Foundation Recognizes 2025 Scholarship Recipients
The Funeral Service Foundation’s investment in funeral service education and professional development was highlighted at the 2025 NFDA All-Star Recognition Ceremony. This year, the Foundation awarded 22 student scholarships covering registration and accommodations to attend the NFDA International Convention & Expo.
Through its academic and professional development scholarships including the David C. Baue NFDA Professional Women’s Conference scholarships, Certified Celebrant Training, Arranger Training, the Embalming & Restorative Arts Seminar, and the national conventions hosted by NFDA, CANA, and NFDMA, the Foundation supports hundreds of individuals each year in advancing their careers and skills in funeral service.

Making an Impact: Reflecting and Giving Back
Foundation Trustees Jimmy Lucas and Matt Outcalt pin new IMPACT 1000 member Jerry Hubbard of Legacy Funeral Home in Grand Junction, CO in front of the Foundation’s IMPACT wall.
Throughout the convention, attendees engaged with the Foundation’s Impact Wall, themed “Every Impact begins with a why. What’s yours?” The interactive display encouraged donors, trustees and professionals to share their motivations for supporting the Foundation or dedicating their careers to funeral service. The wall offered a striking visual reminder of the compassion, purpose and shared commitment that unite the profession.
Additionally, the Foundation was proud to support the NFDA Community Impact Zone, NFDA’s 2025 Convention volunteer hub which gave back to Chicago-land through the creation of 1,000 hygiene kits as well as the opportunity to write letters to veterans who participate in Honor Flights.
Looking Ahead
As the 2025 convention concluded, the Funeral Service Foundation celebrated a year of collaboration, generosity and growth. From new trustees and major donors to scholarship recipients and the reflections captured on the Impact Wall, the Foundation continues to invest in the people and programs that strengthen funeral service.
Looking forward, it remains steadfast in its mission to support grieving communities, foster professional development and inspire the next generation of funeral service leaders – ensuring every story, every gift and every “why” contributes to a lasting impact.
