NFDA CONVENTION & EXPO SCHOLARSHIPS

The Funeral Service Foundation awards NFDA Convention & Expo scholarships to funeral directors licensed in the US or Canada. Valued at up to $2,200, each scholarship covers full registration fees, three nights of lodging at a host hotel, and up to $500 in travel reimbursement.

ABOUT THE CONVENTION

The NFDA International Convention & Expo is the premier networking and education event for funeral service professionals across the US. Learn from profession leaders during our daily keynote presentations, connect with other funeral professionals and learn from one another’s experiences, and take advantage of exclusive offers while exploring the latest in products and services from leading suppliers.
  • This scholarship is intended only for licensed funeral service professionals who plan to attend the NFDA International Convention & Expo.
  • Funeral directors may be licensed in the US or Canada.
  • Recipients of other Funeral Service Foundation scholarships may apply.
  • Those who have already registered for the Convention may apply.
  • Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, religious beliefs, age, national origin, or disability.
  • Scholarships are available to NFDA members and non-members.
  • Scholarships are not renewable and a candidate may only receive this award once.
  • If unable to attend designated scholarship events, the scholarship recipient will forfeit his or her scholarship for that year, but may apply in subsequent years.
  • All scholarships are subject to available funds.
  • All award decisions of the Funeral Service Foundation are final.
  • Alternates may be selected in the event that a scholarship recipient decides not to accept the award.
  • Only completed applications will be considered. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
  • The Funeral Service Foundation reserves the right to eliminate from consideration incomplete applications without further notice to the applicant.
  • Recipients will be notified via email.
  • Convention presenters are not eligible for NFDA Convention scholarships at the bottom of Terms and Guidelines.

SUBMISSION PERIOD
Online applications accepted June 2 – July 23, 2026.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Each candidate is required to answer six questions (limited to 250 words each), submit a brief video of no more than two minutes, and request a letter of recommendation – ensuring that it is submitted by the deadline.
