About Career Development Scholarships

Beginning in March 2022, Career Development Scholarships will be awarded at select in-person funeral service events, which are attended by Foundation staff and trustees.

Scholarships may be awarded to funeral directors licensed in the US or Canada, and are designed to help you access continuing education opportunities. The scholarships underwrite registration fees for a single NFDA Cremation Certification, Arranger Training or Certified Preplanning Consultant session of the recipient’s choosing. NFDA membership is not required to receive a Career Development Scholarship.

  • Career Development Scholarships must be redeemed (registered for a course) by December 31, 2022.
  • Career Development Scholarships are redeemed directly through NFDA. Program dates vary and are based on availability.
  • All underwritten registration fees (up to $500) will be transferred directly to NFDA; under no circumstances will the Funeral Service Foundation make a payment directly to the recipient.
  • Career Development Scholarships are not retroactive or transferable.
  • Those who received a Career Development Scholarship from January 2021 through August 2022 may redeem their award.
