Brookfield, Wis. – With gratitude, Funeral Service Foundation 2017 Chair William Wappner, announced that Regions Funeral & Cemetery Trust, a division of Regions Bank, pledged a major gift of $100,000 in stewardship of the Foundation’s mission to support funeral service in building meaningful relationships with the families and the communities it serves. Regions’ major gift comes on the heels of the company’s $75,000 pledge completion earlier this year.

Wappner made the announcement during the opening general session of the National Funeral Directors Association’s annual International Convention & Expo on October 24 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. “Meaningful relationships give the Foundation its momentum,” said Wappner. “And our solid collaborative partnerships within the profession advance our work, and help make our communities stronger.”

Attended by nearly 6,000 funeral directors, allied professions and leaders within the profession, the convention’s annual ceremony kicked-off the world’s largest gathering of funeral service professionals. David Falconer, senior vice president and manager of Regions Bang Funeral & Cemetery Trust Division, presented Wappner and Foundation Executive Director Danelle O’Neill with a ceremonial check.

“We at Regions, who have been honored to support the Foundation over the years, are honored to pledge $100,000 in support of its far-reaching impact, said Falconer. “We looking forward to continuing our work together to support all of funeral service in building meaningful relationships in the community.”

The contribution from Regions Bank major gift directly supports the Foundation’s mission-focused efforts to fuel the careers of funeral service professionals through scholarships, professional development, outreach, and tools and resources.
