Since 1945

the Funeral Service Foundation has fueled the careers of more than 6,000 funeral service professionals through our mission support funeral service in building meaningful relationships with the families and communities it serves.

We continually hear from professionals who value education, professional development and outreach, but who lack the financial means to access the opportunities.

And we’ve listened.

The Foundation ‘45 Initiative is our salute to our donors and visionary founders for making education accessible to funeral service professionals.

Fund ‘45 honors our roots and expands our capacity to fund mission-focused outreach, and academic scholarships, and continuing education and professional development opportunities though our Foundation ’45 Awards.  All gifts over $45 will receive a Fund ’45 supporter pin!

Whether you’re a student, newly licensed or a seasoned funeral service professional, the Foundation ‘45 Awards are designed to help you transform your career through scholarships, awards, and professional development opportunities.

The Foundation ’45 awards offer access to academic scholarships, NFDA’s Meet the Mentors program and Professional Women’s Conference, and the association’s Arranger Training, Certified Preplanning Certification and Cremation Certification programs through our Career Development Awards.
