Enduring Support… A Lasting Impact
For over a decade donor generosity has allowed the Funeral Service Foundation to award hundreds of thousands of dollars to the worthy projects and initiatives that help make our profession great. From commissioning research to supporting children’s grief programs, and awarding scholarships and assisting communities in crisis, you Foundation has had far-reaching impact.
In fact, in 2014 alone, your Foundation awarded nearly $255,000 to noteworthy causes and initiatives because our donors invest in the future of funeral service, and believe that, together, we can make a difference in the profession that continues to reward us.
Please contact Executive Director Danelle O’Neill to learn more about funding opportunities and allocation.
The Foundation has distributed nearly 15,000 of Talk, Listen, Connect: When Families Grieve multimedia resource kits to funeral service professionals.
In 2013 your Foundation awarded $50,000 to Sesame Workshop, the non-profit education organization behind Sesame Street “and so much more,” to fund the reprinting of these kits.
Have the Talk of a Lifetime™
The Funeral and Memorialization Council’s (FAMIC) highly successful Have the Talk of a Lifetime® consumer education campaign has been met with positive reception from consumer families and within the funeral service profession itself.
The tools and resources are designed to help you share The Talk with the families and communities you serve to encourage conversation with loved ones about death and how to honor a life lived.
The Foundation administers and awards professional development and academic scholarships.
We will begin accepting 2016 academic scholarship applications for students of funeral service enrolled in, or accepted into, an ABFSE-accredited program in the coming months.
