The Joseph E. Hagan
Memorial Scholarships, established in 2000 by the Board of Trustees
of the Funeral Service Foundation, honor one of funeral service's
finest directors, Joseph
E. Hagan, through annual scholarships of $1,000 each to two
mortuary science school students.
Full-time students (who
will be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in the Fall 2008 semester)
in programs accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service
Education are eligible.
Judges from the FSF
Board of Trustees evaluate students based on an essay. The 2008
essay question was:
Describe your role-model
in funeral service.
How will you be a role-model for others when you are a funeral
director, and how will you work to recruit talented individuals
to the profession?
APPLICATIONS
FOR 2008 ARE CLOSED.
Scholarship
applications for 2009 will be available in January 2009.
