Keystone Group Holdings annually awards five $1,000 scholarships to top-scoring mortuary science students via the Key Memories™ scholarship essay contest.

To be eligible for an award, students must be enrolled (or accepted for enrollement) in a mortuary science school accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education.

Each year, the Keystone Advisory Board assigns a specific funeral service-related topic to the competitors for their essay. The 2008 subject was:

As you look toward your future in funeral service, share how you will create that extraordinary and meaningful experience for your client family as opposed to just another “cookie cutter 2:00 p.m. service."

Applications for the 2009 program will be available in January 2009.

The annual competition is judged by members of the Keystone Advisory Board and a Funeral Service Foundation representative.
