More than 130 golfers
enjoyed a great day at the 7th Annual Funeral Service Foundation
Golf Classic,
held Oct. 7 at Red Rock
Country Club in Las Vegas.
The event, held each year
in conjunction with NFDA's convention, raises money for the Funeral
Service Foundation's mission of supporting career and professional
development in funeral service, the advancement of funeral service
and allied professions, public awareness and education, and the
improvement of children's lives.
A threesome from Oklahoma
came in first place. The winners were Paul Thomas and Kari Brown
of Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla.; and Richard Dugger
of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Okla.
In second place was an
Iowa foursome consisting of Mike Fleming and Kyle Grimes from
Keith M. Merrick Company in Sibley, Iowa; and Terry Smith and
Dan Eckhoff of Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City, Iowa
.
Kari Brown had the Longest
Drive and Kyle Grimes had the Straightest Drive. Closest to the
Pin winners were Kari Brown, Bart Burton, Richard Dugger and Mark
Musgrove.
Over $50,000 was
committed in sponsorships from funeral directors and supply companies.
