The Joseph E. Hagan Memorial Scholarships, established in 2000 by the Board of Trustees of the Funeral Service Foundation, honor one of funeral service's finest directors, Joseph E. Hagan, through annual scholarships of $1,000 each to up to five mortuary science school students.
Full-time students (who will be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in the Fall 2010 semester) in programs accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education are eligible.
Judges from the FSF Board of Trustees evaluate students based on an essay. This year's essay question is: What is the greatest challenge facing funeral service today, and how will you transform that into opportunity?
