Homesteaders Life established
The Daniel M. Voecks Fund in 2002. Grants from this $100,000 endowment
will help train and educate those with an interest
in therapeutic humor and in serving children and add to research about the benefits of humor therapy.
Humor therapy is
the use of humor for the relief of physical and emotional difficulties.
The Voecks Humor Education
Initiative sponsors training that leads to therapeutic
applications of humor, with a particular interest in serving children
in end-of-life programs and those who care for them.
